Digital Learning for All Initiative:

The Digital Learning for All Initiative aims to bridge gaps in quality, equitable, and inclusive education through youth-centered digital learning programs. It focuses on empowering youth in rural and underserved communities by providing them with digital learning tools and personalized mentorship.

Key activities include developing a digital learning platform offering tailored content on coding, STEM, non-coding digital skills, and soft skills, implementing a personalized mentorship program that connects learners with mentors via AI-powered chatbots, and organizing annual digital literacy boot camps targeting underserved communities. The initiative ensures young people are prepared for the future of work and is designed to equip 10,000 youth annually with in-demand digital and entrepreneurial skills, fostering opportunities for growth and innovation.

The Issue:

Today, over 90% of jobs worldwide already have a digital component, and most jobs will soon require sophisticated digital skills. Unfortunately, by 2030, more than half of all young people will lack the basic digital skills necessary for the workforce of the future. As the accelerated adoption of online learning continues and digital technologies become a norm for daily activities, the widening digital skills gap has significant consequences for marginalized populations, especially women and adolescent girls.

Despite the pronounced importance of digital skills for participating in the digital world, nearly one billion girls (65% of all girls and young women under 24) lack these essential skills. The lack of basic digital literacy—including functional use of the Internet and digital technology, as well as knowledge of safe digital practices—remains a fundamental barrier to internet adoption and the development of the digital economy.

While the digital skills gap exists across regions and income levels, it is particularly severe for adolescent girls and women who are older, less educated, financially disadvantaged, or living in rural areas. This growing digital skills gender gap threatens the progress made toward gender parity over the past decades. To promote an equitable digital society, there is an urgent need to ensure equal access to technology, digital training, and online safety while closing the widening digital learning gap.

The Solution: Our Organizational Approach

To bridge the gender digital divide and promote the representation and participation of women and girls in the digital economy, the Digital Learning for All Initiative is designed to provide youth in rural and underserved communities with equitable access to digital education. Through youth-centered digital learning programs, the initiative aims to empower young people with the skills needed for the future workforce.

The initiative’s key focus areas include:

  • Developing a digital learning platform offering tailored content on coding, STEM, non-coding digital skills, and soft skills.
  • Implementing a personalized mentorship program that connects learners with mentors via AI-powered chatbots.
  • Organizing annual digital literacy boot camps targeting underserved communities.

By equipping youth with in-demand digital and entrepreneurial skills, the initiative fosters economic opportunities, innovation, and long-term social impact.

Key Objectives

  1. Empower underserved youth (ages 16-30) with digital literacy and skills to become proficient in digital technologies for education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
  2. Provide school-aged youth with digital capabilities to leverage technology for learning and professional development, positioning them for future education and jobs in the evolving digital economy.
  3. Demystify tech careers and inspire youth towards STEM and ICT fields through hands-on learning approaches and exposure to digital opportunities.
  4. Promote inclusive digital education and skill-building opportunities across all 774 local government areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.
  5. Enhance employability and entrepreneurship readiness by integrating career coaching, networking, and job placement support.

Through this initiative, 10,000 youth will be equipped annually with essential digital and entrepreneurial skills, ensuring that young people, regardless of their socio-economic background, have the opportunity to thrive in a digitally connected world.

By equipping the next generation of changemakers with the tools, funding, and networks they need, the Impact Visionaries Accelerator will drive sustainable, systemic change and create lasting social and economic impact across the globe.
